Just a Short One
Winter vitamin advice, and a surprise period.
Hello!
How has your week been? It has not stopped raining here, even this morning after the weather app said ‘no rain’, still a downpour. The clay mud is no joke on the daily, dark, morning dog walks. Hey Ho. Glad I do not live in a low lying area, so many floods! How are things where you are?
I am just writing a newsletter this week, hence very British talk of weather, as I have launched my membership! It has been a lot of work behind the substack scenes, and I am so excited for it. I have called the membership: ‘In It Together’, as it is a space for us all to share experiences, wins, symptoms and make friends. There will be a monthly live Ask Me Anything (AMA) and the first masterclass, (which will be recorded) in January. Really looking forwards to answering your questions and getting to know some of you lovely subscribers in the chat too! When you join you will get my free download in the welcome email, my ‘Ten Top Tips’ to help you navigate your way through the menopause transition. And I am thinking of more ways to help you within the community we build, if you’d like to upgrade hit the subscribe button!
In other news
I had a feckin PERIOD last week, gahhhhh. I was only two months away from the official menopause day. (being 55 this year) After so long in perimenopause I am really looking forwards to this day! Hey ho. I have been using a progesterone cream to aid sleep, which was restless, anxious, and uncomfortable but much better with the GABA promoting progesterone, so maybe that triggered it, who knows? And I am fitter from going to the gym, stronger too, more muscle. These things affect hormone levels. I know my great grandmother had a child in her early 50’s so there is a genetic connection as well. There was no pre-warning sign, no PMT or anything, and it only lasted a couple of days, will this be it now? It is kind of magical that our bodies can be so surprising. (and annoying!)
Winter Vitamin Time.
Do you supplement with Vitamin D through the winter ? I urge my clients to take vitamin D with K2 (which gets the calcium that vitamin D helps us to absorb, to the right place- bones and teeth, and not the wrong one- attached to artery walls, helping to form plaques. As the k2 activates proteins that bind calcium to bones) It is incredibly good for bone health as well as our immune system, energy levels, and hormone regulation. I advise drops, before breakfast. and as always look at ingredients, you don’t need flavourings, seed oils or colourings etc.
I hope you aren’t too frazzled with the mental load of Christmas prep. I am so far behind with everything, I can not even tell you. But all will be well. It is the gym Christmas shindig tonight so I will be venturing out in the evening! Big news!! No alcohol will be consumed by me so we will see how long I can last, bouye’d up by now’t but banter. I will let you know how it goes. Are you partying hard or avoiding nights out these days?
